1st impression
I just opened my 1st bag of Mile Four starter feed. It looks & smells just fine to me. I read many reviews before purchasing, and some of them were complaining about how it was mostly dust, and that it had an off smell to it. Yes, there are fine particles, but to state that it's mostly dust is just plain inaccurate. In regards to the smell...it smells like quality feed. It's loaded with grain, there are some bits of corn (which is fine by me), and some occasional sunflower hull. I'm really happy I made the decision to buy some. Hopefully the chickens will be happy too. In a month or so if I can, I'll add to this review my experience using up (2) 23lb bags. My 1st impression is a 5 star.

Ours love this food as well!
Our adorable group enjoys this food ('grains') as much as it has enjoyed their Starter food. I still give them fermented grains but a few seem to prefer the dry version. They are also getting some greens and fruit and enjoy it.

I started our chicks on this from day 1 of their eating journey. I started fermenting the starter mash within their 1. week. As they got bigger, I also ferment the whole grain starter. They love this food and thrive on it. Maybe they love us even more because of this food?
